This policy explains what information Mobizo collects when you use the site, why, who else sees it, and the choices you have — including deleting your account entirely. Mobizo is a listings platform — we don't process payments, so we never collect card or bank details. This policy is drafted with regard to Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 and generally accepted international data-protection practice, since some of the services we rely on are based outside Sri Lanka.
To show your listings to other users, let you manage your own listings, favourites, saved searches, reviews, and profile, power messaging, map, and search features, respond to support requests, and — when you choose to use them — generate AI descriptions or price estimates for a listing. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use your listing content or messages to train AI models.
We rely on the services below to run Mobizo. Each processes some of your data on our behalf, under its own privacy policy — we encourage you to read the ones relevant to you:
Because of the providers above, your data may be processed and stored in the United States, China, and the United Kingdom, not only in Sri Lanka. We only share what each provider needs to do its job for Mobizo, and rely on each provider's own security and privacy commitments (linked above) to safeguard it while it's in their hands.
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
We keep your account, listing, message, favourite, saved search, and review data for as long as your account exists. If you delete a listing, review, favourite, or saved search, it's removed immediately. If you delete your account, your profile, listings, follows, favourites, saved searches, reviews, and conversations are removed immediately and permanently. Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed for support and record-keeping purposes, even after an associated account is deleted, and removed when no longer needed.
You can edit your profile and photo, and edit or delete any listing, favourite, saved search, or review you own, at any time from your dashboard. You can permanently delete your account from the Danger zonesection of your dashboard — this immediately and irreversibly deletes your profile, every listing you posted, your follows, favourites, saved searches, reviews, conversations, and your sign-in. It can't be undone, and we can't recover it for you afterwards.
Under the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, you also have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and to object to certain uses of it. For anything not covered by the self-service tools in your dashboard, contact us via the Contact pageand we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may raise a complaint with Sri Lanka's Data Protection Authority.
We rely on Firebase's authentication and database infrastructure, access-control rules that restrict who can read or write your data, and rate limiting on sensitive endpoints. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Mobizo is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
