By using Mobizo, you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. These terms form a legal agreement between you and Mobizo, and are drafted with regard to the laws of Sri Lanka and generally accepted international standards for online classifieds and marketplace platforms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to create an account, post a listing, or transact with another user on Mobizo. By using Mobizo, you confirm you meet this requirement.

What Mobizo is

Mobizo is an advertisement and classifieds platform for smartphones — nothing more. We provide the space to post listings, browse them, and get in touch with another user (including through our in-app messaging feature). We are not a party to any sale, we don't process payments, we don't hold funds in escrow, and we don't take a commission. Every transaction happens directly between buyer and seller, off-platform, entirely at their own risk and discretion. Mobizo does not verify the identity, ownership rights, honesty, or trustworthiness of any user beyond the verification tiers shown on a profile, and a verification badge is not a guarantee of anything about that user or their conduct.

Your account

• You sign in with Google. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure — anyone with access to it can manage your listings and messages.
• One account per person. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else or use another person's account without permission.
• You're responsible for keeping your profile name, photo, and listing contact details accurate and not misleading.
• You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Danger zone section of your dashboard. Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes your profile, every listing you posted, your follows, favourites, saved searches, reviews, and conversations — see our Privacy Policy for details. This cannot be undone.

Posting a listing

• Your listing must accurately describe the phone you're selling.
• You must own the item and have the right to sell it.
• Photos must be of the actual item, taken by you or with permission to use.
• Maximum 5 photos per listing, in JPG, PNG, or WEBP format.
• New listings are reviewed before appearing publicly unless your account is verified or immediate publishing is enabled site-wide. We may reject or remove a listing that violates these terms, is miscategorised, appears fraudulent, or isn't a smartphone.
• You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant Mobizo a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely to operate and promote the platform — for example, in search results, the map, or a shared listing preview. This licence ends when you delete the listing or your account, except for copies already cached or shared by others before deletion.

Messaging between users

Mobizo lets a signed-in buyer message a seller directly about a listing. This feature exists purely so you can arrange the details of a private sale — it is not a customer-support channel, an escrow service, or a verification tool, and Mobizo is not a party to, and does not mediate, any conversation you have through it.

• You're solely responsible for what you send and for how you act on what you receive. Mobizo does not routinely monitor, moderate, or review the content of private conversations, and does not vouch for the identity, intentions, or honesty of the person on the other end.
• If you are scammed, defrauded, misled, or otherwise harmed as a result of a message, a listing, or any dealing with another user — on or off the platform — Mobizo is not responsible and accepts no liability for it. See Disclaimer and "Limitation of liability" below.
• Common-sense safety: never send money, deposits, or sensitive financial or personal information to someone you've only spoken to online; verify the item and the person before you commit; and where possible, meet in a safe, public place and inspect the device in person before paying.
• You may not use messaging to harass, threaten, scam, spam, or send unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content. We may suspend your access to messaging, your account, or both, and may review reported conversations to investigate a violation of these terms or a legal obligation.

Reviews and ratings

Signed-in users may leave a star rating and comment on a seller's public profile. Reviews are user-generated content, not verified or endorsed by Mobizo.

• A review must reflect a genuine, honest opinion based on an actual interaction. Don't post false, defamatory, harassing, or unlawful content, and don't post on behalf of someone else.
• A rating or review is not a guarantee of a user's trustworthiness, and Mobizo is not liable for the accuracy of any review or for decisions you make in reliance on one.
• We, or the reviewed user, may report or seek removal of a review that violates these terms; a moderator may remove any review at their discretion.

AI-assisted features

Mobizo can generate a listing description or a resale price estimate using AI, based on the specs you provide. These are suggestions, not guarantees — the description may not be fully accurate and the price estimate is not a valuation. You're responsible for reviewing and editing anything AI-generated before publishing your listing.

Prohibited conduct

• Listing stolen, counterfeit, or unauthorised devices.
• Listing anything that isn't a mobile phone or phone accessory.
• Impersonating another person or business.
• Attempting to scam, harass, threaten, or defraud another user, whether through a listing, a message, or a review.
• Posting unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or infringing content.
• Scraping, abusing, or attempting to circumvent rate limits, security measures, or moderation on the platform.
• Collecting other users' personal information for any purpose other than completing a genuine listing enquiry.

Intellectual property complaints

If you believe a listing or other content on Mobizo infringes your copyright, trademark, or other rights, contact us via the Contact pagewith a description of the content, its location on the site, and your contact details. We'll review and remove infringing content we're able to verify.

Termination

We may suspend or remove an account, listing, message, or review that violates these terms, at our discretion, with or without prior notice. You may stop using Mobizo, or delete your account entirely, at any time.

Disclaimer of warranties

Mobizo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We don't warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing, message, review, or other user content. See our Disclaimer for more detail.

Limitation of liability

Mobizo is an advertising platform only. We are not responsible for the condition, legality, or accuracy of any listed phone, the conduct or honesty of any user, the content of any message or review, or for any dispute, scam, fraud, loss, injury, or damage arising from a transaction, conversation, or other dealing between users — whether that dealing happens on the platform, through Mobizo's messaging feature, or entirely off-platform. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mobizo's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months — which, since Mobizo is free to use, is currently zero. Use judgement, verify who you're dealing with, and meet safely when buying or selling in person.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Mobizo harmless from any claim, loss, or reasonable expense arising from your use of the platform, including your listings, messages, reviews, or your breach of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do; continued use of Mobizo after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, including (where applicable) the Electronic Transactions Act, No. 19 of 2006 and the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 9 of 2003, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
